Term Papers on Leadership

Written by: Free Term Papers

Students may write term papers on leadership for courses in leadership studies as well as for several other disciplines that depend on strong personae, such as political science, ministry, social work, and history.

Students who choose to write term papers on leadership should clearly relate their topics to the courses for which they are writing. For example, students in a history or ministry class may write a term paper on leadership about Martin Luther, because he is a prominent historical and ecclesiological figure; however, a history paper on Martin Luther may focus more on the political ramifications of his spiritual decisions, whereas a paper for a ministry class may focus more on the pastoral implications of Luther's life. Students should choose their area of study based on the needs of the course and their own interests, overlapping their topic choice with their own life goals wherever possible. For example, the student whose life goal is to lead a political movement to end discriminatory practices in agriculture and who is taking a course in historical leadership may consider writing a term paper on leadership about Cesar Chavez. In many situations, the instructor will be willing to let the student pursue an area of personal interest as long as he or she can make some defense of its relationship with the course material, however seemingly insignificant; therefore, one who feels passionately about a certain area of leadership should ask the instructor if there is a way to relate it to the course material for the purposes of writing a term paper, even if the topic seems far afield of the course material.

The student who decides to write a term paper on leadership has several possible categories of discussion from which to choose. He or she could study the leadership style of a certain person, various types of leadership styles in comparison and contrast with each other, or the roles of a leader in a given situation.
